An ode to loneliness

One winter far far away
in the blue hills,
wrapped in the timid measure
of an unkempt light
we waited, speechless.

Listening to the rustling leaves,
the whispering rain,
the mourning thunder,
and our quiet heartaches, intent.

Your ocean body carelessly
painted my sand skin
with your unbound froth.

Long since, I have stopped
rummaging the dreary sky for rain
for I still walk sopping wet.
